MH Media Strategies guides process for new name and branding for Naptown Philharmonic Orchestra, formerly Londontowne Symphony Orchestra

Annapolis, MD – The Londontowne Symphony Orchestra closed its 20th season with an exciting announcement: A new rebrand as the Naptown Philharmonic Orchestra, signifying a new direction as a source of affordable and enjoyable classical and popular music for the Annapolis area.

The rebranding was accomplished with local marketing firm MH Media Strategies. Michael Hughes, Managing Partner of MH Media Strategies, shared his excitement about the project: “Working with the Naptown Philharmonic Orchestra team has been an exciting project for us. The new name and branding capture the vibrant spirit of Annapolis and the orchestra’s commitment to making music accessible and enjoyable for everyone. We are proud to support their vision and look forward to their continued success.”

Catherine Carouge, VP of Creative at MH Media Strategies, added insight into the creative process: “Rebranding an established institution like the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra was both a challenge and a privilege. We aimed to honor their history while infusing a fresh, local energy into the new brand. It’s rewarding to see the positive response from the community.”

Music Director and Conductor Dr. Anna Binneweg expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “This has been a long time coming and I am so happy to see it finally happen. Our new name and look better connect us to this area. We already provide opportunities for professional, student, and community musicians to learn and grow under our experienced leadership. We plan to not only continue that but to be more visible in the community outside of the performance stage.”

“We have a great story to tell after a successful 20 years,” Dr. Binneweg continued. “We can’t wait to build on that for the next 20 years, bringing more of our community to the beautiful music of all types by the Naptown Philharmonic!”

The new name was revealed at the orchestra’s performance, which featured iconic American music inspired by the “Wild, Wild West.” To further connect the audience and community to the Naptown Philharmonic, the Naptown Brass New Orleans-style second line band marched into the Maryland Hall auditorium to a raucous unveiling of the new logo, bringing the audience to its feet. Guests were welcomed at a post-concert reception and gifted newly branded merchandise, as well as a sneak peek of the new website, also developed by MH Media Strategies.
